What is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist?

Canadian Certified Pedorthists are orthotic and footwear experts. Pedorthists (C.Ped) are one of the few healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and biomechanics. Being a Certified Pedorthist entitles Lindsay Orthotics and Foot Care to be the preferred provider for most insurance companies.

With specialized education and training in the design, manufacturing, fit and modification of foot orthotics and footwear, pedorthists help to alleviate pain, abnormalities and debilitating conditions of the lower limbs and feet that, if left untreated, could result in limited mobility.

Cathy Garbutt is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist with an honours Bachelor Science degree from the University of Waterloo in Kinesiology.  Cathy was born and raised in the City of Kawartha Lakes. After university she worked for BioPed in Ottawa for 5 years, returning to this area to raise a family and to be close to relatives. Cathy actively supports local organizations both as coach/trainer and with sponsorships.

Cathy purchased Lindsay Orthotics and Foot Care in 2009, after working there for 6 years.
